Fantasy Footall 2016 Top 25 – Pre-Draft Edition

By: Nate Leer

Below is my list of the top 25 fantasy football players for 2016. This is a generic list for various scoring formats as players’ particulars are subject to change based on the draft and/or training camp developments, i.e. Ezekiel Elliott’s landing spot effecting number of catches versus total yards for, say, Miami receivers.

  1. Rob Gronkowski – TE – NE
  2. LeVeon Bell – RB – Pit
  3. Todd Gurley – RB – LA
  4. Adrian Peterson – RB – Min [The top 4 are a level above the following players with limited upside or track record. Gronk has such significant position dominance at TE that he is the most valuable player in this draft.]
  5. Devonte Freeman – RB – Atl
  6. David Johnson – RB – Ari
  7. Thomas Rawls – RB – Sea
  8. Cam Newton – QB – Car
  9. D Martin – RB – TB
  10.  Odell Beckham, Jr – WR – NYG
  11. Antonio Brown – WR – Pit
  12. Jamal Charles – RB – KC
  13. Lamar Miller – RB – Hou
  14. Russell Wilson – QB – Sea [5-14 represent high upside RBs, stud WRs or the top multi-talented QBs.]
  15. Deandre Hopkins – WR – Hou
  16. Julio Jones – WR – Atl
  17. CJ Anderson – RB – Den
  18. Dez Bryant – WR – Dal
  19. Allen Robinson – WR – Jac
  20. James Stewart – RB – Car
  21. Aaron Rodgers – QB – GB
  22. Ezekiel Elliot – RB – ?
  23. AJ Green – WR – Cin
  24. Ryan Matthews – RB – Phi
  25. Eddie Lacy – RB – GB [The last half of this list represents mostly high-risk/high-reward RBs and high-upside WRs.]

I will update this list after the draft with specific adjustments explained. With most drafts over 4 months away, this list just provides a basis for change to come.
